Walter C. Hotaling, Jr.

Walter C. Hotaling, 89, born and raised in Selkirk, NY raised his family in Glenmont, NY and enjoyed his winters in Naples, FL during his long retirement, passed away on May 17, 2023 at home with his family.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea from December 1953 to December 1955.  He was employed by Key Bank for 43 years where he mat and worked with many fine individuals and retired in 1994 as Vice President.  He was an avid golfer, a member of Normanside Country Club and a member of the Senior Golfers Association of Eastern New York, where he won the Dwight Ladu Trophy in 2011.  Walter was also a member and past president of the University Club of Albany.  During his retirement he founded a golf league in Deauville Lake Club in Naples, Florida.

Walter enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader when not on the golf course.  One of his favorite activities was “Checking his eyelids for pinholes” on the screened porch.  He will be remembered for his classic one liners.  He always had a joke in his back pocket for just the right time.

He was happily married to the love of his life for almost 62 years and is survived by his wife Elizabeth and his son, David C. Hotaling (Beth), his daughter, Lynn H. Corrigan (John), four grandchildren, Caitlin E. Hotaling, Erin K. Corrigan, Sean B. Corrigan, and Delaney E. Corrigan.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
