Timothy T. Kove, 86, of Albany, NY, passed away on April 15 after suffering a stroke.
The funeral service will be held at Saint Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church 440 Whitehall Rd, Albany on Friday, April 21 with a viewing at 11a.m. and the service at 12p.m. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery 680 Delaware Ave., Albany.
Tim was born in Albany to Theodore and Dorothy Kove on January 10, 1937. He went to Albany High School where he played basketball, baseball and football before graduating in 1954. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from Siena College in 1959. While he was also a multi-sport athlete at Siena, Tim was always very proud to have played for the varsity basketball team. He remained an avid Siena basketball fan for his entire life, missing games only during the pandemic. Following graduation, he attended Albany Law to earn his law degree in 1963.
Tim worked much of his career as a lawyer in Albany. He had many hobbies that included traveling, golf, and debating politics. Tim enjoyed time with family and also enjoyed being part of a long-standing poker game with friends. In his retirement, Tim worked for several years at the Albany Municipal golf course as a starter.
Tim is survived by his sister Cynthia (Kove) Humphrey of Easley, SC and her husband Steve. Tim leaves his nieces and nephews Denise (Humphrey) Allen and husband Joseph, David Humphrey, Jennifer (Kove) Rose and her husband Eric, and Pamela (Kove) Maher and her husband Dan. He also leaves grandnieces and nephews Sophia, Jason, Rebecca, Brian, Jackson and Mae. He is preceded in death by his wife Susan Chainyk, his brother Robert and sister Anita.
