Thomas Stephen Brown, a devoted husband, proud father, and cherished grandfather, passed away suddenly on January 13, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Sue Ann Brown (née Lamantia); sons Gregory T. Brown (Christine), Christopher M. Brown (Sophie), Brad J. Colacino (Amanda Kukle), and Jason P. Colacino; his six grandchildren Cecelia R. Brown, William G. Brown, Clara M. Brown, Henry L. Colacino, Riley F. Colacino, and Emilia M. Brown; his siblings Stephen Brown (Peggy), Christine Weidman (James), and Kathleen Shevlin; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wayne S. Brown and Ida Brown (née Bruno), and his brother-in-law, Thomas Shevlin.
Tom was born in Rochester, New York on February 9, 1950. A graduate of Eastridge High School, he earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology, working his way through school along the way. He built a distinguished career in health care beginning in 1974, with roles at Blue Cross, Novalis, Value Options, and Fidelis HealthCare, where he retired in January 2020 as Chief Administrative Officer.
Outside of the office, Tom loved cars and never missed the chance to strike up a conversation with a fellow enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling with Sue Ann throughout Europe, from the British Isles to the Alps and the Mediterranean coast, and had a lifelong love of music, especially the Beatles, whose lyrics he could quote with ease. A leader and role model, Tom led by example throughout his life and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
His greatest joy in life came in the presence of his grandchildren, alongside his partner and soulmate, in a house full of love and laughter.
