Terry L. Whitney

Terry Lee Whitney, 71, died at his home in Delmar on December 29, 2020. Terry, the middle child of Roland Whitney and Barbara (Saulsbury) Whitney, graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the US Army, stationed in Germany. After his service he returned to his lifelong community of Delmar, where he has worked as a General Contractor. Terry has been an active member of multiple gun clubs, bowling leagues, and dart leagues and served as President of the Elsmere Rod & Gun Club.Throughout the years he taught the trades and trap shooting to younger generations. He was a generous man with a kind spirit who loved to cook. He will be dearly missed by his wife of forty years, Geraldine (Race) Whitney, his son, Scott Whitney, his daughter, Lori Nolan, his daughter-in-law, Kelly (Christianson) Whitney, his grandson, Sawyer Whitney, his brother, Alan Whitney, his sister, Lori (Whitney) Bowdish, his sister in law, Wanda (Susser) Whitney, along with nieces, Holly (Whitney) Weddell, Tiffiny (Bowdish) Snyder, and nephew, Christopher Bowdish, other extended family members, and a host of loyal friends. A celebration of his life and memorial trap shoot will be held at the Coxsackie Rod & Gun Club, hopefully in May, as COVID permits. Proceeds will be donated to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
