Susan C. Carvin Blassman

Susan Christine Carvin Blassman, 75, passed away after a brief illness in the company of family at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York on September 7, 2026.

Susan was born in Oakland, California on June 9, 1951 to Sally (Erickson) Carvin and Elton Keith Carvin. Susan attended Reno High School, the University of Colorado Boulder (BA), and State University of New York at Albany (MS). She worked as a counselor at Hudson Valley Community College for 21 years, retiring in 2002.

Susan is survived by her husband of 37 years, George Albert; their son, George Thomas (Tom) Blassman; by her sister, Kathy (Carvin) Hodge (Marty); by her brother, David Carvin (Vivian); by her nieces (Megan Casas, Beth Murray and Lauretta Walters) and her nephew (Chad Carvin); by her Aunt, Joan (Carvin) Key; and by her sister-in-law, Angela Blassman. 

By request of the family and per Susan’s wishes, no services will be held. Susan will join her sisters, Deborah and Diane at Greenwood Cemetery in Grass Valley, California.
