Sheila C. Gorman, 86, of Delmar passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
Born April 1, 1936 in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (MacMaster) Coughlin. Sheila was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names and the College of St. Rose where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Brady Maternity Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital. Sheila was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard T. Gorman; her children, Kathleen (Frank) Nemazie, Jeanne (Blair) Johnson, Barbara Gorman, David (Robin) Gorman and Megan (Scott) Prince; siblings, Ellen Coughlin, Thomas (Nancy) Coughlin and the late Robert Coughlin; grandchildren, Sean and Timothy Nemazie, Daniel and Leah Johnson, Brenden and Abigael Gorman and Andrew and Brayden Prince; and several nieces and nephews.
The family thanks Jen C., Bebe, Pearly and the dedicated staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for the special care they provided.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Friday at St Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9 to 10 am at the Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org/northeasternny).
