COEYMANS HOLLOW - Ronald W. Palmer, 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Son of the late William and Irma Palmer, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol; daughter, Stacy (Curtis) Condon; sister, Phyllis (John) Tomeck and their children, Michael Tomeck and Carrie (Phi) Nguyen; and grand doggy, Max. Ron served for four years in the U.S. Air Force, Air Police Canine unit, stationed in Oklahoma. He received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Science from Russell Sage College. Ron enjoyed a 31 year career with the F.B.I., organizing the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid and serving as program manager for the new F.B.I. building on McCarty Ave. His memberships included the F.B.I. Alumni Association, Bethlehem Elks, Ravena Grange, American Legion, Ravena Coeymans Historical Society, Alcove Preservation Society, and Coeymans Hollow Fire Department. Ron loved to hunt and fish and ride his Kubota 900 (Kobe). He was an avid Texas Hold'em player and loved going to casinos. Ronald loved to cook and for a while had Granny Foods Mobile Hot Dog Cart, enjoying the socialization it brought. Always thinking of others, he was kindhearted but a jokester as well. He was surrounded by wonderful friends and family. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and may attend the funeral service at 1:30 at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. Burial will be in Onesquethaw Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Onesquethaw Reformed Church Youth Group, Tarrytown Rd., Feura Bush, NY 12067 or Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 So. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12202.
