Richard T. Gorman

Richard T. Gorman, 91, of Delmar passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 2, 1935 in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Richard C. and Marcella (Langan) Gorman. Dick was a graduate of the Albany Teachers College where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. A U.S. Army veteran, he honorably served his country in Germany from 1958-1959. Dick was a math teacher at Bethlehem Central High School for 37 years prior to his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar.

Dick is survived by his children, Kathleen (Frank) Nemazie, Jeanne (Blair) Johnson, Barbara Gorman, David (Robin) Gorman and Megan (Scott) Prince; grandchildren, Sean and Timothy (Belen) Nemazie, Daniel (Katelyn) and Leah Johnson, Brenden and Abigael Gorman and Andrew and Brayden Prince. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Sheila C. Gorman.

The family thanks the staff at the Eddy in Troy as well as Colleen, Christie and the staff of Community Hospice for the special care they provided.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 18 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday at St Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
