Paul T. Miller

1932 — April 27, 2013

DELMAR - Paul T. Miller went to be with his Lord peacefully from his home the morning of April 27, 2013. Paul was born on Oct 29, 1932 at Glens Falls Hospital to Mary and Pierre Miller and was the younger brother of Richard Miller. He grew up in the Adirondacks and graduated from Long Lake High School in 1952 along with eight classmates. Paul married Marion Wallace Miller on December 11, 1954 in the Slingerlands Methodist Church. He began working for Geurtze Builders as a carpenter in 1954, followed by Wickes Lumber in Selkirk and then in millwork shops. Paul and Marion purchased a two bedroom home in Delmar in 1962. Paul added two additional bedrooms on to their home and did the majority of the work himself. In 1980 he began working for Hannay Reels in Westerlo, where he worked until retiring in 1998. Paul enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bird watching, hiking, photography and many years of camping with his family. Paul was very gifted in his carpentry skills and his ability to repair or build just about anything. He often used those gifts to help his family, church, friends and neighbors with repairs and renovations, in most cases unselfishly volunteering his time. He also served on his church's building committees to make use of his building skills. Paul is survived by his wife Marion of 58 years, his daughter Sandra Pearsall (her children Brian and Kelly), and his sons Paul (wife Diane, and their children Noah and Lauren), William and Charles. Family and friends of the family are invited to call on Saturday, May 11th from 10 to 11 am at the Bethlehem Community Church, 201 Elm Ave, Delmar and may attend a Memorial Service at 11 am at the church. A private interment service will be held at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Delmar at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the Albany County Hospice for the compassionate assistance that they provided for Paul in his last few days in his home in Delmar. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.nami.org) in memory of Paul.
