Patricia A. Black

DELMAR - Patricia Ann Black passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, January 6th, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Patty is survived by her mother Rita Mary Sanford, her three children Christopher (Laurie), Andrew (Keri), and Elizabeth (Konstantine), her two brothers Thomas Sanford (Mary) and John Sanford (Julie) and her sister Susan Vickery as well as her five grandchildren Sean, Liam, Patrick, Fionnuala and Evgenia and many nieces and nephews. Patty will be remembered most for her kind heart and energetic spirit even during her long battle with Parkinson's. Her optimism and enthusiasm for life were an inspiration to all who were around her. The family would like to send a special thank you to all the care providers at the Albany County Nursing Home. Your friendship and kindness toward Patty will always be cherished. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 9th from 11 am to 2 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 am Saturday, January 10th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting a contribution in memory of Patricia to the National Parkinson Foundation.
