Mildred A. Schleich, 95, of Delmar, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital on Thursday, April 1, 2021 after a brief illness.
Mildred was born in Syracuse, NY on December 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Oscar and Edith Luce. She had been employed for many years at the Dept. of Federal Highway in Delmar prior to her retirement. She enjoyed vacation trips to Martinique, Barbados and Acapulco and loved playing bingo. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John W. Schleich; brother, Paul Luce; and sister, Dorothy Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Gary W. Schleich (Janet); her sister, Lynn Chestnut (the late Tom); granddaughter, Janel Cloutier (Don) and their daughter, Emily; step-granddaughter, Amy Elrod (Casey) and their children, Joe, Scarlett and Beatrice; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to Albany Stratton VA Medical Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
