MaryAnn E. Thorne

MaryAnn (Dorsey) Thorne, 84, of Delmar passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10th, 2026.

MaryAnn was born in Cobleskill, NY on September 11th, 1941, to the late Leo and Ida (Wright) Dorsey. She is survived by her children Ronald E. Thorne, Jr. and Jaqueline M. Thorne. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald (Ron) Thorne, Sr of 59 years.

She was a devoted wife and mother, whose smile never faltered and whose heart was always full. She retired from The Research Foundation for the State University of NY, where she worked for many years.

MaryAnn and Ron enjoyed cruising and dancing and had many adventures together. MaryAnn loved music, singing in the church choir from her youth and playing guitar. She was also an avid baker and sewer and showered affection upon many special cats over the years. She was a beloved part of her community and neighborhood, joining the ladies for Mahjong tournaments and was frequently seen out for an afternoon stroll.
