Mary Kaplan

ALBANY: Mary P. (Mandrano) Kaplan, 94, died Saturday July 16, 2011 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Born in New Rochelle, N.Y. on October 12, 1916, she lived in Albany County for 56 years. Mary was the wife of the late Sidney M. Kaplan. They lived in Slingerlands where they raised their daughter Lisa Kaplan, now of New York City and her brother Angelo (Kayo) Mandrano of North Carolina. Mary worked for Macy's at Colonie Center for 25 years where she was known for her distinctive hats and sense of style. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary suffered from Alzheimer 's disease and for the last nine years lived at Daughters of Sarah. Calling hours were held at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar on July 18th, 2011 Graveside services were held on July 19th at the Bethlehem Cemetery, Kenwood and Elsmere Avenues, Delmar.
