Mary R. Burleigh

DELMAR – Mary R. Burleigh, 95, passed into the arms of the lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015. Born in Brooklyn she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian (Harold) Byitte and wife of the late Frederick D. Burleigh. Mary worked as a private duty nurse for many years. She is survived by her children Fred Burleigh, Jr., Thomas Burleigh and Sharon Pohl. Mary is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by two children Rhoda and John, her 11 siblings and her cat Peaches. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10am in the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday beginning at 9am. Interment will follow the service in Jerusalem Cemetery, Feura Bush. Those who wish may make memorial donations to Bethlehem EMS, P.O. Box 508, Delmar, NY 12054.
