Obituary:
In loving memory of Margaret M. McInerney, affectionately known as Peggy, who passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Eddy Village Green in Slingerlands, NY with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. Peggy's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, generosity, and a deep connection to her family. She had a very generous heart and cherished her loved ones as the light her life. Her quirky sayings such as "I'm chasing the devil by his tail" or "Pass through the storm with a push" will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
Her love for dancing and music, along with her passion for traveling and Irish heritage, brought immense joy to Peggy's life. She found solace in the melodies of Irish music and took pride in her cultural roots.
She is preceded in death by her father John Maloney, mother Elizabeth Maloney, husband Patrick Joseph McInerney, son Kevin McInerney, sister Bernice Alacci, brother Michael Hennessey and grandson Michael McInerney. Peggy is survived by her daughter Bernadette Terry and her husband Howard Terry, son Stephen McInerney, her late son Kevin's wife, Deborah McInerney, grandchildren Kelly McInerney, Howard Terry, and Aimee Terry, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eddy Village Green at Beverwyck, the Terrace at Beverwyck and the nurses and volunteers from Community Hospice for their loving care and concern shown to Peggy and her family.
A Funeral Mass to honor Peggy's life will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A service in memory of Peggy will also be held on Saturday, June 8th at St. Francis Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne at 11:00 AM followed by the Rite of Committal when Peggy will be laid to rest.
