Madeleine M. Futia

Madeleine M. Futia of Delmar, NY born February 12, 1942 in Albany, NY passed after a brief illness on April 22, 2026.

After working for Governor Nelson A Rockefeller, Madeleine married Joseph N Futia, Jr, who pre-deceased her in 2023 and together they raised five children. She is survived by Joseph, Marjorie (Cheryl Van De Mark), John (Matthew Hanrahan), Catherine (David Van Wie) and Michael (Amanda Young) as well as her beloved grandchildren Zachary Foote (Jessica), Alexandria Averill (Bradley), Matthew Van Wie, Molly Rowe (Matthew) and Olivia Futia and newly hatched great grandson, Wesley Joseph Averill.

Madeleine enjoyed reading, her home craft club, for which she was a past president, painting and cake decorating. Madeleine's cakes were present at several weddings, anniversaries, showers and birthdays.

Madeleine was able to spend several years in Florida with Joseph where they enjoyed the community they built and Saturday night game nights at their home in Rockledge.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 28 from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar immediately followed by a memorial service at 7 pm. The Rite of Committal will be held 9 am Wednesday, April 29 at the Mausoleum at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, 41 Jolley Rd., Glenmont.
