June Compton

DELMAR - June G. Compton, 88, passed away at home on Friday, August 23, 2013 with her family at her side. Born in Croydon Surrey, England on May 27, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Cuthbert "Bert" and Ann Eleanor "Ellie" O'Connor Compton. June had been a "Grey Lady" many years ago at St. Peter's Hospital and had worked in insurance and sales. She served as secretary at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Delmar for many years with Fr. Darius Mojallali and was a member of the church's Daughters of the King. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Compton-Wright and companion, Jeffrey Parent; family in Australia, Canada, South Africa and the United Kingdom; and dear friends, Angie and David Newell and Rev. Cyntha Gilks. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 28th at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 16 Elsmere Ave., Delmar. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
