John L. Perry, Jr.

John L. Perry, Jr. age 93, entered into eternal life Thursday, July 30, 2026.  Born in Albany he was the son of the late John L. Perry, Sr. and Edna Mosher Perry and the beloved husband of the late Anna E. Perry.

John was a self-employed plumber known as "Perry the Plumber" for many years.  He later sold his business to D.A. Bennett from which he retired in 1998.

John was a faithful communicant of the South Bethlehem United Methodist Church where he held many leadership positions over the years including acting in many plays and running the Fall Fair concession stand.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 86, a United States Navy Veteran and a past member of the Selkirk Fire Co. #3 and Bethlehem Ambulance Squad.

John enjoyed supporting his children through their many endeavors in sports, with horses and 4H and he loved spending time at his camp on Loon Lake in Chestertown.  

John will be remembered as a kind man who was always there to lend a hand whenever anyone needed.

John is survived by his children, Lisa E. Perry (Joseph Therrien), Mark W. Perry (Diane), Brian J. Perry (Kelly) and Dena E. Perry (Kim Boyd); his grandchildren, Kara Perry, Reilly Perry, Matthew Perry, Connor Perry and Aden Bills.  He is also survived by his dear cousin, MaryBeth Sclafani. 

In addition to his wife and parents John is predeceased by his infant sons, William John Perry and John Matthew Perry and his mother-in-law, Florence Slingerland.  

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, August, 5, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the South Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 65 Willowbrook Ave. S. Bethlehem, NY followed by a funeral service commencing at 12:00pm.

Interment will be private.
