Jin Huang

Jin Huang of Slingerlands passed away on September 18, 2026. Born May 14, 1958 in Taipei, Taiwan, she grew up in Taiwan and later lived in Seattle, New York City and Troy, NY before moving to Slingerlands. Jin was a distinguished architectural designer specializing in sustainable building design. She was the lead project designer on numerous prestigious buildings, including the Columbia University Faculty House and the US Headquarters of the Nestle Corporation, that achieved Gold status from the worldwide Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program.

Jin was a devoted and loving single parent to her daughter Tiffany and often spoke with great pride about Tiffany’s vivacious character and accomplishments. Tenacious, and with singleness of purpose, Jin weathered life’s obstacles with a loving and generous heart, leaving joy in her wake. Those who knew Jin will always remember her piercing intellect, principled convictions and unwavering loyalty.

Jin was predeceased by her father Jiang-yi Huang, mother Ming-Fang Wang-Huang and daughter Tiffany Chang. She is survived by her sisters Yi Huang and Yu Huang of New Taipei City, Taiwan and her companion Mark Thomas of Slingerlands.
