GLENMONT – Irene Pesnel, 97, died Friday, June 15, 2018 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady.
She was born in Tivoli, NY to Walter and Mary Guski. Irene received her nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie and in 1942 she married M. Edwin Pesnel. Irene was a loyal volunteer with The Daughters of Charity, St. Thomas the Apostle Church, the Albany Symphony, Faculty Wives and many more.
She leaves her daughter, Susan Vintschger (Franz) and son Jeffrey Pesnel (Dorothy), 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Kingsway Arms for their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, June 19 from 5 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 20 at 9:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar, NY 12054 or Alzheimer’s Association of NENY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
