Hermina Venezia

GLENMONT - Hermina (Mina) Venezia, 90, died February 25, 2012. She was born in Passaic, NJ on February 17, 1922 to Cecelia and Mathias Schweighardt. On February 22, 1952 she married Sam Venezia and they spent the next 60 years together. Her biggest joy was her family, but Mina also enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques. She spent many years running her antique shop, The Nosey Goose, in Burnt Hills before moving to Glenmont in October, 2000. She will be missed by her loving husband, Sam, her sons, Frank (Valerie) of Glenmont, NY and Thomas (Lori) of Bloomfield, CT. and her granddaughters, Jessica, Jill, Emily and Bridget. She also left behind her sisters, Kay Reay and Mary Ellen Zahorian, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Ele Venezia and several nieces and nephews. Mina was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Schweighardt, Cecelia Schweighardt and Millicent Walder. A private memorial service honoring Mina will be held for the family at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar and she will be interred at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
