Daniel Ethan Van Hoesen, 83, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025.
Born in Feura Bush on August 23, 1941, he was the son of the late William and Ollie (McNab) Van Hoesen. A U.S. Army veteran, Daniel honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. Daniel worked at the Albany Institute of History and Art as a carpenter for 36 years prior to his retirement in 2007. He was married to Sandra Mae Oravsky on August 10, 1974. While attending Bethlehem Junior High School, Daniel was a gymnast and enjoyed putting on shows. He made his own artwork and loved music, especially dancing and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his daughters, Christina and Victoria Van Hoesen; brother, Samuel Van Hoesen; sister, Marylou Ward; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Van Hoesen.
Calling hours will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, July 19 at Clarksville Community Church, 1997 Delaware Turnpike, Clarksville followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Burial will be in Onesquethaw Cemetery followed by a reception at the church.
