Christina Louise Moloney, age 56, of Delmar, NY passed away on February 1, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by family.
Christina, “Tina,” was born on January 9, 1970, in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York to John Cuimin and Elizabeth (Hayes) Moloney. She grew up in Queens and attended Murray Bergtraum High School in New York City. She received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Binghamton before pursuing a master’s in education from SUNY Albany.
Christina was a cherished member of the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Middle School where she taught English for many years. She loved teaching and sharing literature with her students. She was a teacher for over 26 years.
Outside of work, she loved spending time with her husband, and her family. She loved to travel, to dine out, and most of all to shop. Christina was a true fashionista.
Christina is survived by her husband John “Paco” Isdell; her siblings Marguerite Moloney, Sean Moloney (Anna), and Maura Moloney Hernandez (Victor); John’s sisters Cathy Schaefer and Barbara Duclos, and his children John Matteo Isdell, Zoe Isdell, and Chelsea Sweeney (Brian); and her adoring nieces, nephews, and grandchildren: Krystal Diaz Camacho (Andrew), Kyle Camacho, Fiona Hernandez, Sebastian Moloney, Emma Moloney, Ian Moloney, Oliver Reil, Francis Sweeney, and Grace Sweeney. Christina was preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Moloney, her step-mom Lois, and her beloved nephew Aidan.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 4:00 to to 7:00pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. Delmar.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Christina’s memory, www.stjude.org.
Christina was a beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
