Carol A. Stricos

Oct 23, 1962 — Aug 9, 2026

Delmar

Carol Ann Stricos, age 63, passed away suddenly at her home in Delmar, NY on Sunday, August 9th, 2026.

Carol was born in Albany, NY on October 23rd, 1962 to Robert and Cynthia Flagler. She grew up in Albany with a big family, alongside her many siblings and cousins. Carol graduated from Mercy High School where she made lifelong friends.

Carol’s career led her to Anthem, where she worked in health insurance sales as an Account Manager. She was a people person who truly enjoyed working with her clients, and loved her travels throughout the northeast in her later years with the company. Carol worked with a lot of the same coworkers for decades, many of whom became cherished friends.

She married the love of her life and her best friend, Thomas Stricos, on September 8th, 1990. They enjoyed many beautiful years together as they raised their children, and eventually became grandparents.

Carol retired from Anthem in 2024, and her and Tom split their time between their home in Delmar and a second home they purchased in Bonita Springs, Florida. Carol made a friend wherever she went, and they enjoyed spending time with their family and friends they made in Florida.

Carol had a unique quality of appreciating every one of life’s simple moments: a beautiful sunset, a hummingbird at her feeder, smooth jazz on the radio. She lived every day to the fullest and always shared how blessed she felt for the life that she had. Her pride and joy was her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed many trips with her family in recent years to Ocean City, Maryland and Cape Cod. She was a devoted and patient grandma to her two granddaughters and shared a special bond with each of them.

Carol is survived by her husband, Thomas Stricos of Delmar, NY, her children Lauren (Gus) Weloth of Colonie, NY and Brian (Courtney) Stricos of Latham, NY, granddaughters Madeleine and Lily Weloth, parents Robert and Cynthia Flagler of Albany, NY, siblings Timothy (Melissa) Flagler of Apollo Beach, Florida, Diane (Don) Hems of Albany, NY, Bobby (Sarah) Flagler of Albany, NY, Scott (Cheryl) Flagler of Albany, NY and many other beloved family members.
