Arthur C. Roberts

DELMAR – Arthur C. Roberts, Jr., 76, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 12, 2017.

Born in Syracuse on December 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Arthur C. and Mary E. (Nelson) Roberts, Sr.  He attended Paul Smith College and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  Art enjoyed a lengthy career in the construction industry, retiring from the N.Y.S. Dept. of Corrections.  In his earlier years, Art was an avid skier and instructor.  He enjoyed playing golf and could often be found at Normanside Country Club.  He was also an avid reader.  Art loved spending time with his family and attending his grandsons sporting events.   He will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Linda Weissbard and Susan Moore and granddaughter, Hannah Roberts

He is survived by his wife, Maureen (Quinn) Roberts; sons, Michael Roberts and Eric Roberts (Kathleen); sister, Margaret Roberts (Ira); grandsons, Connor and Quinn Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 16th from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 17th at 9:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar.  Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.  Contributions in memory of Arthur C. Roberts, Jr. may be made to the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, AMC Foundation, 43 New Scotland Ave., MC-119, Albany, NY 12208
