DELMAR – Albert D. Potter, 93, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Born in Albany, Albert was a graduate of Springfield College and received Masters Degrees from Columbia University and Johns Hopkins University. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Commander after 28 years of service. Following his military career, Albert was a counselor at the Educational Opportunity Center in Albany. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Clyne) Potter and a brother, Thomas Potter. He is survived by two sons, James T. (Amy) Potter of Delmar and David E. (Patricia) Potter of Manhattan; grandchildren, Christine M., Thomas D., Brian L. and Colin I. Potter; nephews, John and Scott Potter and a niece, Debra Sullivan. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, Sept. 7th from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday, Sept. 8th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
