Obituary of Nicholas W. Peek

SLINGERLANDS - Nicholas W. Peek passed away November 23, 2015 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home with family by his side. He was born in Bambrugge, Holland to the late Arnoldus T. and Anna Maria (Goes) Peek. He moved to Delmar, NY in 1955. He worked for Albany Dodge as truck foreman for many years and then retired from Bethlehem Highway Department as a mechanic. He volunteered for Bethlehem Senior Services where he drove the senior van. Nicholas enjoyed bowling every Friday with a bowling league. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife J. Vera (Cleary) Peek of 55 years; his three children, Mark (Sally) of Griffin, GA, Brian (Kim) of Albany, NY and daughter Sheila (John) Justice of Loudonville, NY; and his eight grandchildren, Anthony, Bobby, Sara, Emily, Nicolaas, Julianne, Madison and Caitlin. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar, NY on Sunday, November 29th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 30th at 9:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY. Interment at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Glenmont, NY will immediately follow the mass.
