Obituary of Nicholas J. Vitillo

DELMAR- Nicholas J. Vitillo, 58, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany on July 1, 1956, he was the son of the late Nicholas G. and Jennie (Riccardi) Vitillo. A master electrician, Nick owned and operated Albany Electric for many years and had worked for NYS in the Burn Plant for 11 years. Nick also owned Tri-Village Trucking with his son Paul. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting and was a gun enthusiast. Nick enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going on casino trips and cooking. He loved animals, especially his dogs and horses. But most of all Nick loved his family and the time spent with them. Survivors include his wife, Cherise (Majeski) Vitillo; children, Paul Kietzman (Melissa) and Victoria, Anna, Nicole, Kristen and Jamie Vitillo; sister, JoAnn Reichel, her husband Brian, and their daughter Rachel; grandchildren, Emma and Andrew Kietzman and Alexis Loucks; father-in-law, Edward Majewski; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 29th from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday, March 30th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
