Obituary of John R. Haines,III

DELMAR – John R. Haines, III, lived a full and happy life in Delmar, NY with his loving parents Marguerite and John Haines and his cat Abigail. He died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center due to a fall during the Christmas Holidays and it’s effect on Alzheimer’s disease. He was also survived by his dear sister Amanda McManus of Washington, DC. John graduated from Guilderland High School in 1988 and went to work at the Center for Disability Services in Albany where he assembled mailings. He was greatly helped in all his endeavors by Orland Breedy, his supervisor on the east work floor. In addition, Colleen Edwards, Elissa Zwiebach, and Michelle McCoy were valued friends who provided John with educational services that made his working life a success. John was proud of his job and looked forward to each day. John’s life was further enriched by Jack Dennis and the E.R.D.S. office of New York which once offered recreational opportunities to its many clients. John particularly enjoyed the Olympic Bowling League, arts and crafts, cooking, Special Olympics track and field and visits to many NY tourist attractions. The family would like to thank the team of nurses managed by Cathy Pankow for the excellent care and kindness that John received during his time at Good Samaritan; and, the staff that was always there to meet his needs. John loved his family, all his friends and the world around him. He will be missed. Burial services are scheduled for the spring in Jr. Mechanics Cemetery, Tabernacle, NJ.
