Obituary of Robert K. Pangburn

DELMAR- Robert K. Pangburn, 79, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Born in Albany on February 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Ellen Pangburn and precious husband for over 41 years to his devoted wife and loving caregiver, Maggie. Bob was employed as a Postal Systems Examiner and Financial Analyst with the USPS in Delmar and Albany, retiring in 1992. He loved his income tax business and enjoyed his clients very much. Bob was an avid NASCAR fan, attending races with his best friend Sherb Hill. His greatest joy was being with his wife Maggie, daughter Heather (Daddy's little girl) and her husband Dave Baker, going out to dinner and enjoying the many wonderful vacations they shared. He loved his wife's nieces and nephews and appreciated their visits and will also be missed by his dear friend Teddy Wilson and feline friend, Guinness. He will be remembered for his kind nature and concern for others. The family wishes to thank Dr. Olendorf , the wonderful staff of the Community Hospice of Albany, especially "Lindsey", Loretta, Anne, Trish, Sally, Christine, Pat, all the nurses at the Hospice Inn and the many people, both known and anonymous, who have shown such kindness and support during this difficult time. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 20th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A service will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
